Aviva are currently recruiting for an Underwriting Assistant on a Fixed Term Contract covering Maternity leave for 12 Months.

This role is flexible and will be hybrid working.

Together, we'll be working towards providing a comprehensive service which aids our team of underwriters. This will include building a successful network of internal and external relationships; responding to a variety of enquiries and meeting high standards to ensure customer satisfaction.

Some of the day-to-day tasks involve:

  • Collaborating with our Trading Underwriter team in London to deliver end-to-end policy management for large, complex corporate risks.

  • Delivering business-important metrics alongside our management team.

  • Spotting and driving opportunities for operational improvements.

  • Acting on feedback from customers and sharing ideas with managers and peers.

  • Taking personal responsibility for development in line with business strategy.

  • Potential for occasional requirement for travel to our London office.

Skills and experience we wish to see:

  • Proven record of delivering excellent customer outcomes.

  • Experience in building and encouraging positive internal and external relationships.

  • Good knowledge of IT including spreadsheets; databases and word processing.

  • Previous underwriting experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

  • Previous experience in the insurance or financial industry is preferable but, again, not essential.

  • Salary up to £26,000 (Depending on skills, experience and qualifications)
