We are seeking a dedicated University Access Officer to join our team, covering two schools in the Birmingham area. The ideal candidate will be ready to start as soon as possible to complete induction before the term begins. This role is crucial in helping students make successful university applications by providing guidance and support throughout the process.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme.
  • Match students with volunteer tutors and monitor their attendance to tutorials.
  • Devise innovative solutions to encourage student attendance and assess their progress.
  • Upload and manage student information on the Salesforce database (training provided).
  • Monitor the impact of tutorials and intervene as appropriate to ensure student success.
  • Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure a positive experience.
  • Manage tutor relationships and attendance through weekly monitoring, emailing, and phone calls.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure cooperation and timely completion of programme activities.
  • Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
  • Support the volunteering team by assisting in delivering tutor training sessions, which may occur on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (compensated with time off).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to deliver projects and manage administration with accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Effective time management and ability to lead and manage change.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and skilled in building and maintaining excellent relationships.
  • Access to own transport or reliable transport methods is ideal.
