Job Title: Waking Watch Security Officer

Location: Cambridge area covering the below postcodes

CB1, CB4, CB2, CB5

Job Type: Full-time

Shift time - 0700-1900-1900-0700

Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off Days and Nights. Including weekend and public holidays

Pay rate : £12.60 per hour

Our customer is a female-majority board leading in diversity and inclusivity across the security industry. Providing professional integrated bespoke security and facilities management services across an array of sectors, including educational settings, student accommodation, healthcare, charitable, corporate / estate management, Logistics and distribution, social housing, utilities, and shopping centres / retail parks.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Waking Watch Security Officer's to monitor residential and commercial buildings for fire safety risks. The role involves conducting regular patrols, identifying potential fire hazards, and ensuring the safety of residents and occupants by responding swiftly to any emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to detect fire hazards, safety risks, or suspicious activities.
  • Maintain constant vigilance to ensure early detection of fire or security threats.
  • Assist in the safe evacuation of residents or occupants in case of an emergency.
  • Provide clear and calm communication during emergency situations.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of patrols, incidents, and any safety concerns.
  • Liaise with emergency services and building management when required.
  • Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and report any breaches.
  • Support a safe and secure environment for all occupants.

Requirements:

  • A valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license is essential
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and act decisively in emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit to perform patrols and respond swiftly when needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
