Warehouse / Forklift senior Operative 

Ipswich

Hours - days / nights 

Hourly rate - £12.50 

We are currently partnering with an organisation based in Ipswich who are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to progress to supervisor level and build a career.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to have a valid Counterbalance and Reach Truck licence. Our client is an importer of goods, and this will be a fast paced and busy role.

Duties

  • Operate Counterbalance and Reach Trucks to move materials within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transport materials to designated storage areas.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Assist in the organisation and arrangement of warehouse stock for easy accessibility.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently according to pick lists.
  • Utilise forklifts to retrieve items from high shelves or other storage locations.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines while operating forklifts.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report any malfunctions or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment to prevent accidents.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding stock levels, order status, and any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damages and discrepancies.
  • Report any quality issues and work with the quality control team to address them.
  • Customer service – taking job bookings from customers.
  • filing and organising documents / updating spreadsheets
The Candidate

  • Previous experience in a warehouse essential
  • Valid Counterbalance & Reach truck licence
  • Strong communication skills
  • Available immediately
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to keep up with work load.
