Summary: 
 
Our client supplies to its clients over 40,000 different product ranges. Their operation spans further than the UK, alongside their sister brands they operate on a global scale. 
 
This level of outreach requires extensive operational, logistical and distribution excellence, and due to retirement they are now looking for their successor to come on board and continue to lead the team to new heights operationally alongside the support of The Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
 
Warehouse Operations Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Ensure that all warehouse activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and industry regulations
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity
Inventory Control:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Implement inventory management systems to track stock levels, orders, deliveries, and shipments
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to manage stock replenishment and avoid shortages or overstock situations
 
Team Leadership:
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse staff, including supervisors, forklift operators, and warehouse associates
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and training, and address any performance issues
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
 
Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all warehouse operations adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide ongoing safety training to warehouse staff and promote a culture of safety awareness.
 
Logistics and Distribution:
  • Coordinate with logistics partners and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
  • Monitor and optimise transportation routes and delivery schedules.
  • Resolve any issues related to shipping, receiving, or transportation.
 
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance warehouse operations.
  • Utilise warehouse management software and technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on warehouse performance.

You Will Need To Have/Be:
 
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a Managerial position within a warehouse or distribution centre setting
  • Whilst also having strong knowledge of transport logistics, route planning and driver compliance 
  • Experience having run teams of 10 or bigger 
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
