We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehousing and Stock Controller to join our client in Leek, Staffordshire. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, the main purpose of the role will be to organise and direct all activities relating to preparation of goods, warehousing, storage, receipt and dispatch of goods.

Main Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to the Operations Planner with stock management, material replenishment and canning operation.
  • Work closely with Production and Logistics teams in providing a flexible resource.
  • Aid the production team in achieving and maintaining HSE targets.
  • Ensure storage areas and movements remain fluid and operate safely.
  • Liaising with senior stores operative to determine training needs of the stores team.
  • Key user for SAP and labelling systems.
  • Control of hazardous waste material, ensuing safe and proper disposal.
  • Maintain and improve safety, quality and environmental performance.
  • Investigate all Stores / yard area QHSE incidents/ near misses and use Root Cause Analysis to put corrective actions into place
  • Safe use of FLTs and liaising with service provider
  • Create/maintain all standard operating procedures and risk assessment

Qualifications / Experience required:

  • Working knowledge of Dangerous goods and transport regulations
  • Planning and prioritising
  • Systematic approach to problem solving
  • Oral and written communication
  • Previous knowledge and experience in undertaking Root Cause Analysis advantageous
  • Knowledge/Experience of ISO90001 or equivalent quality standard
  • NEBOSH certified
  • IMDG/IATA qualification
  • Able to communicate on all levels both internally and externally
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong IT proficiency with knowledge of business systems (e.g. SAP) and software packages (Outlook, Excel, Word, Entropy and Planet)

Hours / Salary:

  • 8:45am to 5pm with 45 minutes unpaid lunch
  • 33 days holidays including bank holidays
  • Up to £35k dependent on experience
