Renault Retail Group seeks an Automotive Warranty Controller to join our aftersales team based on Trinity Way, Salford (M3).

The role will involve handling Warranty cases and related enquiries at Renault Manchester and Renault Bolton. Travel to both sites will be expected.

Duties of the Warranty Controller include submitting claims onto warranty systems using information from vehicle repair technicians’ assessments in line with manufacturer requirements and guidelines in order to maximise the recovery of warranty claims. Other duties are invoicing of internal preparation work, job card preparation, filing, and other administrative duties in line with the remit.

We are looking for someone who is a confident automotive Warranty Controller and experienced in dealing professionally with customers and negotiating strongly with warranty organisations and vehicle manufacturers to ensure they take responsibility where they clearly should do so.

As well as having exceptional customer service and negotiation skills, the ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • A confident communicator in-person, by phone, email and live chat
  • Experienced in assembling and submitting automotive warranty invoices with detailed descriptions and photographs in line with Group, manufacturer and warranty standards
  • Handling sensitive cases with utmost discretion and confidentiality
  • scrutinising and following-up on outstanding warranty invoices to achieve the highest possible recovery rate
  • maintaining accurate records of warranty claims using our dealer management system (DMS) and MS Excel
  • keeping abreast of Manufacturer and Group Warranty policies and relevant legislation
  • promoting best practice at our regional dealerships that support optimal recovery rates

The selected individual can expect to have regular interaction and teamwork with other members of the Service Departments of Renault Manchester and Renault Bolton including Service Advisors and Technicians, the Parts Manager other dealership staff including Accounts and the Head of Business, who will be the reporting manager for the post-holder.

A solid track record as a dealership Warranty Controller or Senior Service Advisor is essential as is recent experience in using a dealer management system identical or similar to Kerridge, ADP Autoline or CDK Drive. Practical experience using the Microsoft Office suite in a similar role is expected too, in particular MS Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Teams.

We are happy to consider candidates with previous Warranty Controller experience with any volume brand, but we will also consider candidates with similar experience with LCV and prestige brands.

The main base for this role will be Renault Manchester, with frequent visits to Renault Bolton expected; hence a company car is part of the package. Business mileage for these trips is reimbursable.

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm with 1 hour for lunch. Total 40 hours per week.

In return we offer a basic salary of £29,993 per annum, plus a monthly bonus scheme enabling an OTE circa £35,991 pa. A company car is also part of the package.
