Waste Facility Operative

  • Salary: £23,767 per annum
  • Location: Tees Valley Region
  • Job Type: Agency (4-6 weeks contract)

We are seeking a dedicated Waste Facility Operative to join our client’s innovative team. This role is crucial in contributing to the delivery of a high-performing waste transfer and recycling facility, with the goal of reducing waste, increasing recycling, and diverting waste from landfill.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Perform a range of general semi-skilled tasks related to the collection, sorting, and disposal of waste.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure all works meet agreed quality standards.
  • Maintain the site’s appearance and contribute to sustainability efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with service users.
  • Ensure the site operates in compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and environmental health and safety legislation.
  • Strive to achieve value for money principles in all operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience within the waste industry.
  • A flexible approach to service delivery in a commercial environment.
  • Professionalism, collaboration, drive, and enthusiasm.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience operating specialist equipment such as a telehandler and commercial weighbridge is beneficial but not essential.
