Berry Recruitment are recruiting for full time waste operative in LN5 in Lincoln

Objectives: To safely carry out operations as prescribed AND effectively collect, process, sort and generally manage the customers waste

Key Task and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure routine collection and disposal of waste from around site.
  • Safe use of forklift, pallet rider, van and other mobile plant
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe storage of all wastes
  • Assist in the segregation, packaging and labelling of wastes
  • Assist in the removal from site of all waste materials thereby reducing stock build up.
  • Assist in monitoring of safety of operations and all team member's compliance with operating instructions and requirements
  • Complete daily vehicle and equipment check sheets as required
  • Routine liaison with manager or supervisor on operational and safety aspects of work

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the behavioural safety and near miss reporting requirements
  • Assist in the completion of other tasks associated with the contract e.g. housekeeping
  • Signing of duty of care and hazardous waste consignment notes
  • Support all other team members in their roles when necessary
  • Provide operational support

Skills and qualifications

  • Valid Forklift licence
  • Current driving licence

Ability to work on own and use own initiative
