About SMT

Our client, SMT GB, are a leading full-service distribution and after-sales specialist in construction machinery and trucks, material handling and recycling equipment. SMT are looking for an experienced Workshop or Field based Engineer to join their well-established and professional team of engineers. Then role requires a hands-on approach, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

About the Role

As a Workshop Engineer at SMT GB, you will identify mechanical and computerised systems problems, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair on Volvo heavy mobile plant within the workshop at their Warrington depot.

Key responsibilities:

  • Service, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on Volvo construction equipment
  • Ensuring software updates are installed
  • The accurate completion of paperwork
  • Coaching and guiding colleagues with technical support
  • Health and safety compliance

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or Land Based Engineering
  • Previous mechanical experience working on heavy plant machinery
  • Proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics, and electronics
