Workshop Technician - Spray and Blasting

Here at Contract Personnel, we are recruiting an experienced technician, with experience of blasting, for a very successful coating and blasting company based in Norfolk. As a successful candidate, you will be required to support the other technicians within the workshop, as well as finishing projects within a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be expected to:

Clean and ensure the workshop is prepped for new jobs

Set up the blasting/painting equipment

Prepare surfaces ready for the work to start

Have an experience of tools – power drills, saws, levels, pressure washers and spraying equipment

Apply primers and finishing coats

Masking items for blast cleaning

Quality inspections and judgement of own work

Use of forklifts and manual handling equipment

Whatever duties are required by the workshop supervisor

Health & Safety

It is vital to be responsible for your own H&S, as well as those around you

Following processes in line with instructions, to comply with H&S regulations

Ensure any H&S issues are reported to management immediately

Ensure you constantly refer to H&S training (company provided)

Requirements

Work Experience:

Time-served experience of power tools, lifts, pressure washers and sprayers

Counterbalance forklift license (desirable)

Overhead cranes training (desirable)

Prior blasting experience (essential)
