Reports To: Logistics & Distribution Supervisor

Salary: NMW + Benefits

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Depot hand - Full clean driving licence essential

Job Purpose:

To ensure the efficient and safe operation of the yard, including serving customers, managing stock, operating forklifts, and loading/unloading deliveries.

This role would suit anyone seeking entry into the logistics industry or transferring their skills to work in a customer driven environment. You will also strike the perfect work life balance. We are open between 8.00am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays between 9.00am and 12noon. The successful applicant will work during opening hours Monday to Friday and on some Saturday mornings on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve customers in the yard, providing excellent customer service.
  • Operate forklifts to load and unload deliveries.
  • Offload deliveries and locate stock in the yard.
  • Assist drivers with loading and unloading for deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and ensure accurate stock management.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks in the yard.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Person Specification

  • Full Driving license
  • FLT trained
  • This is a physically demanding role due to the nature of our product range, so applicants must be able to lift and move heavy items
  • No DR/DD/IN infringements
  • Committed to Delivering high levels of customer delight
  • Friendly, self-motivated and confident
  • Organised
  • Able to work as part of a team
