Hays Recruitment have partnered with an Ofsted rated "Good" single form entry primary school in Runcorn as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced teaching assistant to support the Year 6 class. This is a long-term full-time contract starting on 04/09/2024 that is highly likely to last the full academic year.


Your new role
In your new role as the Year 6 teaching assistant, you will be working under the instruction of the year 6 class teacher. You will use your initiative within the classroom, actively identifying which pupils may need additional support and supporting them on a 1:1 and group basis as required. You will hold intervention and booster sessions in core subjects, ensuring that all pupils reach their full academic potential and take a lead on SATs preparation and transitions to secondary school. You will build strong constructive relationships with your new pupils by actively encouraging them to engage in lessons and use a myriad of positive behaviour techniques.


What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as an NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning, as well as:

  • Recent referenceable experience supporting Key Stage 2 aged pupils (aged 7 - 11)
  • The ability to take a person-centred approach to education
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract (5 days per week)
  • Have experience delivering intervention and booster sessions
