Head of Group Finance

Southeast - Hybrid

Up to £120,000 base subject to experience, plus car & bonus

T2M have been appointed to recruit this key role for an international private equity backed engineering services & logistics group, with operations throughout Europe, APAC and the US (the majority of business currently in Europe), that delivers projects to global brand manufacturing clients.

Reporting to the UK based Group Chief Financial Officer you will have a forward thinking positive outlook in regard to change and transformation, with the gravitas to engage with multiple stake holders and to lead and develop a small team providing a high-quality financial planning, reporting and control function.

What will you be doing?

  • Leadership of a small team covering the operational business in relation to Group Accounting, FP&A,TAX, VAT, and Treasury
  • Development and continuous improvement of financial systems, procedures and processes including automation innovation to support current and future business efficiency, to include the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Ownership of the business planning and budgeting process with ongoing review
  • Preparation and presentation of timely and insightful financial reports and analysis to review historic performance and drive business improvement
  • Management of cashflow and working capital forecasts ensuring strong cash collection and treasury management
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and returns
  • External relationship management including auditors, banks, and external advisors
  • Supporting and influencing the delivery of strategy to meet shorter term commercial goals and medium to long term objectives

What are we looking for?

This remit requires a qualified accountant who loves to make a difference! Someone who thrives at adding value whilst also ensuring the day to day aspects of finance run like clockwork! Specific skills, experience, and attributes we seek include the following:

  • A technically strong qualified accountant who can deliver robust financial planning, financial control, reporting and compliance and fully up to date with GAAP / IFRS reporting
  • Experience of working at the forefront of an international finance team, ideally within engineering / manufacturing
  • High attention to detail balanced with strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Proven capability in delivering great efficiency in finance through the leadership and development of a small team and improvement of systems and processes
  • Passionate about being in the business
  • Great communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and resilience
  • Experience of change and transformation to include the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Someone who thrives in an environment where there is significant opportunity to improve financial controls and processes
  • Able to get into the detail but remain strategic and able to resolve issues with sustainable solutions
  • Able to plan effectively and meet deadlines
