Management Accountant, Arts - £55,000, Central London
A prestigious London arts institution is looking for a new qualified accountant to join their growing finance function. After a new systems update and changes to the team, they are looking for a Management Accountant to come in and focus on the capital projects across the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will work as part of a wider management accounting team and business partner with project managers and other museum staff. This will be perfectly suited to auditors with solid technical skills and looking to work in a brilliant charity. Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with the management accountants and accounts processing team to provide best practice accounting, processing and reporting services to all staff
  • Preparation of online management reports and accurate quarterly forecasts
  • Contribute to the organisation budgeting process.
  • Preparation of material for the consolidated financial statements and liaison with the auditors
  • Preparation of year-end financial statements, reports and papers for subsidiaries and related entities, and acting as main point of contact for auditors
  • Preparation of information for internal reports and papers, including the corporate risk register
  • Ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and reporting on funds
  • Ensuring compliance with public sector and charitable sector regulations and guidelines
  • Maintaining delegations of authority, workflows and reports on the finance system
  • Contribute to annual procedure and policy updates
  • Analysis of Museum-wide income and expenditure streams to monitor and improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Providing and reviewing financial information for business cases and funding applications
  • Contribute financial expertise to Museum-wide projects and initiatives.
 
Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant with experience in audit would be preferred (ACA)
  • ACCA/CIMA Qualified accountants from the charity sector would also be considered
  • Experience with Unit 4/Agresso or Business Central would be desirable but not necessary
  • Strong compliance understanding
  • Interest in working in the arts
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to wok with multiple stakeholders both inside and out of the finance function
