The Schools
A range of schools around the Dursley, Cam, Stonehouse, Stroud and Nailsworth areas.

The Role
You will be supporting an individual pupil to access the school curriculum. They are likely to have an EHCP (Education, Health, Care Plan) or part way through the application process. You will work under the guidance and support of the class teacher and SENDCo, and will be expected to use your own initiative when delivering interventions.

  • Salary negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Full-time and Part-time roles available 
  • Start date: September 2024


Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support for an individual pupil
  • Support physical, social and emotional development
  • Ensure safety and welfare is maintained
  • Feedback to class teacher and SENDCo
  • Collaborate with staff and work productively within a team
  • Take part in all activities that the pupil undertakes


Essential Criteria

  • Ability to build good relationships with young people
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • High levels of patience and flexibility
  • Good understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities


Desirable Criteria

  • Teaching assistant qualifications
  • Prior experience working/volunteering in a school
