Average Production Planner salary in the UK

Global engineering business requires a Production Planner. Applicants need production planning or manufacturing scheduling experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment and have experience in the use of MRP, ERP or MS Excel. The Production Planner will join a successful and high performing production planning team, reporting to a Production Planning Manager. The Production Planner will take a lead role in scheduling shop floor manufacturing activities in alignment with production plans and the master schedule, to meet customer orders. Specific duties of the Production Planner include: Creating production plans and production works orders in MRPInterdepartmental liaison with; Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality etc. and highlight risks to production scheduleMonitor progress of production plans and material availabilityCreate and update lead times around specific manufacturing processesMaintenance of data and material availability dates in MRP Production Planner applicants should meet the following criteria: Production Planning, Production Control, Production Coordination or Master Scheduling experiencePrevious experience within a manufacturing or engineering businessExperience with MRP/ERP tools, or planning experience in MS ExcelKnowledge of LEAN techniques and methodologies - Kanban, JIT etc.Self-motivated, enthusiastic and positive demeanorHappy to work in a site-based role

Working as part of a small team, you would have responsibility for devising effective production schedules across a complex manufacturing environment in order to meet the needs of an international client base. Interpretation of medium to long term forecasts into demand and capacity plans that can be used to set production schedules and manning plans to achieve customer OTIF targets. Candidates should have previous relevant experience of production planning and control within a fast moving MRP driven manufacturing environment. Ideally with a relevant technical, operations or supply chain qualification, candidates should have considerable experience with a dedicated or ERP modular planning system alongside strong analytical skills and first class communication.
