Butler Rose Public Practice are once again, delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established, of some 100 years, firm of chartered accountants that are now eager to appoint an ambitious accounts & audit professional into either a semi-senior or senior level role depending on current experience.

Role Requirements -

  • Preparation of year end statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of Ltd companies, charities, partnerships, sole traders, and other entities in accordance with FRS102-1A.
  • Computations for corporation tax CT600 returns and submission to the HMRC.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and other information as required by the client e.g. variance analysis, cash flow forecasts.
  • Assisting with the completion of client quarterly VAT returns as required.
  • Working as a member of the audit team and performing audit work in accordance with instructions given by more senior staff. This will also involve specialist audit assignments, which require different approaches to standard audit assignments.
  • Ensuring files are in order for review by Managers/Partners. Preparing a list of points that need to be brought to the attention of Managers/Partners or referred to the client.
  • Providing ad hoc advice and assistance to clients.
  • This role does involve travelling to clients. Any additional time spent travelling over and above your normal travel time to the office can be charged to the client.


Person Requirements -

  • Ideally AAT qualified and/or ACA qualified/part qualified with a strong exam track record.
  • Currently working in a similar blend accounts and audit role as a semi-senior or Senior working for a UK based firm of accountants.
  • Solid practical exposure to accounts production, corporation tax, management accounts, VAT, and audit work.
  • Proficient in a range of accounting software ideally to include Caseware, XERO, Quickbooks and Mercia working papers.
