My client is currently seeking an Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their fun and energetic department. This role offers an opportunity for growth and learning, with a focus on improving processes. Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices to correct nominal accounts.
  • Setting up payments for supplier invoices and matching/closing open invoices.
  • Ensuring invoices are approved according to company procedures and uploaded to the system.
  • Posting wholesale customer invoices and managing cash receipts.
  • Collaborating with the merchandising team to resolve price queries between purchase orders and stock invoices.
  • Analyzing outstanding and aging balances on monthly debtors and creditors lists.
  • Posting credit card expenditures and reconciling accounts.
  • Reconciling the company expense system and ensuring all receipts are processed and approved.
  • Building relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Managing the accounts mailbox and providing excellent customer service.
  • Assisting with other financial tasks such as bank account reconciliations and wholesale reconciliations.
  • Supporting the annual audit process and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Assistant role.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance is preferable but not mandatory.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of debits and credits.
  • Accurate, logical, and concise approach to work.
  • Proficient user of Excel (vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Excellent organisation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong team player who thrives under pressure.
