Orka Financial is partnering with an established company based in Hampshire, who are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join their dynamic finance team and contribute to our continued success.

As an Accounts Payable Assistant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions. This role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review incoming invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  • Assist in in month-end procedures
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Ensure all invoices are approved by the appropriate personnel.
  • Enter invoice details into the accounting system accurately
  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors and resolve any issues promptly
  • Prepare and process payments via checks, electronic transfers, and other approved methods.
  • Reconcile payments with invoices and maintain accurate payment records.
  • Preparation of payment runs.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role supporting a finance team is required.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Salary £32,000 - £36,000 + excellent company benefits - hours 9am-5pm
