JMF Associates is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on a temporary to permanent basis and is looking for someone available to start immediately or on 1 week's notice. You will work for a reputable and growing organisation that looks after its staff and has a fantastic working environment.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and want to be part of an energetic and friendly team this will be a great opportunity for you. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for the general and purchase ledger functions in the finance team.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Accountant:

  • Process all overhead invoices and credit notes to the purchase ledger on a weekly basis
  • Resolve all invoice queries with suppliers
  • Prepare and check all weekly payment runs and send them for approval
  • Reconcile all supplier payments suppliers on a weekly basis
  • Provide cover or assistance for purchase or sales ledger
  • Post customers' receipts to sale ledger on a daily basis
  • Post bank transactions to the general ledger on a daily basis
  • Check and process paypal receipts and payments on a weekly basis
  • Reconcile all bank statements on a monthly basis
  • Post credit card statements
  • Take payments over the phone
  • Check and approve staff expenses
  • Prepayments and accruals
  • Other Ad-hoc duties

Key skills of an Assistant Accountant:

  • Previous experience working in purchase ledger
  • Experiences in running payment runs
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
  • Good reconciliation skills
  • Self motivated and excellent team player
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbally
