If you excel at networking, project management, and have higher education experience, we may have just the job for you - Signature Recruitment is delighted to offer 2 x 12-month fixed term contract Business Development Officer roles at a London based University.

These positions are full time with a flexible hybrid working arrangement of two days in the office and three at home. They will require on-campus presence or attendance at external events and involves occasional paid travel for exhibitions. They offer a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on experience.

You will be working within a university renowned for it’s high-impact research and work-related learning programs, including apprenticeships, online degrees, Skills sessions, and various short courses. All designed to align with the latest advancements in digital transformation, data science, artificial intelligence, and project management. As a Business Development Officer, you will support the promotion of work-related programmes which include a portfolio of apprenticeships as well as other short courses. This is an external-facing role requiring professionalism and excellent communication skills as you will need to build relationships, network, manage projects, as well as handle associated administrative tasks.

Business Development Officer Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate new leads through research and networking to grow the University’s customer base
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners. With your ability to identify training needs, and promote the University’s apprenticeship services to secure income generating opportunities for the University
  • Work with the Marketing Team and engaging in business development activities. These include in-person networking events, employer roundtables, seminars and webinars
  • Organise and support functions to promote the University’s apprenticeship opportunities including attending, hosting and networking during events
  • Undertake administrative tasks and duties related to Apprenticeship projects. This includes keeping information on supplier portals up to date, tracking progress of new business and managing shared inboxes
  • Work with the Operations Team to support prospective employers and apprentices through their onboarding journey, ensuring compliance with the necessary bodies
Business Development Officer Key Skills:
  • Experience of building relationships in the HE and the business community particularly if related to Apprenticeship Schemes
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills. A strong ability to work well as part of a team and build relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills which demonstrate an ability to communicate professionally with all individuals, internally and externally
  • Highly organised, with good project and time management skills and proficient in IT, particularly MS Office
