Chef - Chinese Cuisine Cantonese or Mandarin Speaking

My client is seeking a number of skilled and experienced Mandarin or Cantonese speaking Chefs to join their team. As a Chinese Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Chinese dishes. Your primary duties will include creating menu items, ensuring food quality and presentation, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining a clean and organised work-space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Chinese dishes, following authentic recipes and techniques
• Develop and create new menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
• Ensure food quality and presentation meets high standards, maintaining consistency in taste and appearance
• Manage kitchen operations, including ordering supplies, monitoring inventory, and overseeing food preparation processes
• Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain a productive and efficient work environment
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
• Collaborate with restaurant management to plan and execute special events, promotions, and menu changes

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chinese Chef, specialising in Chinese cuisine
• Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese language, with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and customers
• Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
