New Vacancy - Claims Adjuster (UK Disease)
Birmingham/London/Worthing/Remote
Insurer

I am currently recruiting for a leading insurer who are seeking a Claims Adjuster to join their growing disease team.

My client is looking for someone experienced in disease claims, more specifically noise induced hearing loss claims; all the claims will be on the direct side and UK based. The role will be based out of the Birmingham office but there is some flexibility surrounding this. They are also open to someone with a background in Casualty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Update claims file by accurately recording and maintaining claims data in line with industry best practices and high technical complexity.
  • Utilize judgment to verify policies and determine coverage for claims, as well as assess liability and establish negligence/breach of duty principles.
  • Ensure timely resolution of claims by creating case strategies, developing evaluations, and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Comply with service level agreements and establish timely reserves for claims within authority limits.
  • Calculate damages, negotiate settlements, and provide excellent customer service through proactive communication and adherence to protocols.
  • Manage litigation, ensure legal compliance, and secure contributions and recoveries.
  • Contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insight and serving as a technical resource for lower-level claims professionals.
  • Protect the organization's reputation by maintaining confidentiality and treating customers fairly.
  • Stay current with industry trends and participate in professional development opportunities to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
  • Identify and resolve problems by referencing policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Take responsibility for personal development and seek input from senior colleagues for complex issues.
  • Demonstrate commitment to corporate values and teamwork.
  • Stay informed about legal, regulatory, and medical developments.
  • Focus on early settlement of claims to minimize liability and solicitor costs, ensuring policy obligations are met and customers are treated fairly.
  • May participate in audits, due diligence, and Policyholder meetings as required.
