Zest Recruitment and Legal Consultancy are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a busy Residential Conveyancing Department in Caerphilly. This is a permanent position, both full time hours and part time hours would be considered.

This role will provide direct support to the fee earner within the Residential Conveyancing Department. Main duties include:

  • Opening and closing files on the firms’ case management system.
  • Updating clients, solicitors and estate agents where necessary via telephone and emails on a daily basis.
  • Taking clients instruction, obtaining source of funds and checking ID.
  • Preparing draft documents and issuing sales contracts.
  • Requesting mortgage redemption figures.
  • Drafting transfer deeds.
  • Replying to sales enquiries.
  • Ordering searches.
  • Dealing with exchange of contracts on sales and purchases.
  • Undertaking pre completion searches.
  • Dealing with the submission of the LTT/SDLT tax return.
  • Dealing with post completion.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a conveyancing assistant with excellent communication and people skills.
