WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of business reporting for our organisation. This role involves maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our data to provide essential management information, support request fulfilment, and manage incident responses. Operating behind the IT Service Desk, the Data Analyst is responsible for addressing service requests and resolving incidents in line with agreed service levels. A key aspect of this role is managing internal customer expectations and consistently representing the department positively.

Main Areas of Work:

  • Develop and maintain management information (MI) reports to satisfy both business and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep documentation, such as data dictionaries, up to date to enable business users to generate and understand MI reports.
  • Interpret business requirements and develop applications to address these needs.
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal customers in response to queries submitted to the IT Service Desk.
  • Manage routine maintenance tasks, including data erasure procedures.
  • Provide technical support to IT projects, contributing to solution research, design, and implementation.

DATA ANALYST - ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Expertise in configuring data warehouse or data management applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases.
  • Proficiency in writing and interpreting Oracle PL/SQL or T-SQL.
  • Experience producing graphical reports using data warehousing or similar applications.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain complex MI reports for financial services, particularly related to mortgage or savings products.
  • Experience collaborating with non-technical business areas to create accurate MI/OI reports.
  • Familiarity with working in an ITIL-aligned service operations environment.
