I have an exciting opportunity with a global insurer who are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to join their team. This is a key role within their recently created transformation function which sits in the underwriting division. This is a unique opportunity to work within a team that is driving change within the commercial front end of a global insurance business.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team in delivering the successful transformation of the data analytics environment to support the delivery of the Underwriting function's strategic agenda
  • Establish and deliver a clear roadmap for the creation of a robust data engineering infrastructure aimed at ensuring commercial and strategic success for the business
  • Develop and maintain automated ETL data pipelines to drive efficiency in the new TOM
  • Translate data analytics into a format for presentation to senior members of the division.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience of managing teams and/or projects with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of the application of Data Engineering within the Insurance sector (could be a data focused Actuary going down the Data Engineering route or Data Engineer with commercial insurance experience)
  • Programming experience essential with direct exposure to Python and SQL.
  • An understanding and experience of the Databricks platform desirable
