Document Controller

Relationships

  • Ensuring all aspects of document control are carried out in an effective and timely manner.
  • Design, Estimating, HSEQ departments, directors, project managers as well as suppliers/subcontractors, Clients’ document control          

Job Purpose

To ensure our clients commitment to complete every project on time and on budget, maintaining the preferred status with all the projects it undertakes is maintained, this role will be responsible for ensuring that production-based documentation is controlled on key clients’ portals/project Intranet systems and in accordance with relevant procedures supporting the achievement of the company’s key objectives.

Key Result Areas

  • Responsible for the control of instructions, construction documentation and client feedback/comments using relevant portals/project intranet systems
  • To ensure all contract documentation is downloaded and saved in the right location and accessible to all relevant internal teams at all times
  • To ensure documents are checked, QA approved and amended if required before they are uploaded onto the system, in accordance with client protocols
  • To ensure documents are distributed to the relevant teams within the timeframes indicated coordinating this activity where necessary
  • To liaise with the internal and external teams/agencies ensuring that all the documents are 100% accurate and understandable
  • To respond to client feedback and comments escalating to relevant departments to ensure all documentation remains up to date at all times  

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role within construction
  • Attention to detail and a strong desire for accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills as they are interacting with other key teams in the business
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work is a must in this role
  • Excellent IT Skills, advanced Word and Excel
  • Familiar with Project Intranets; Aconex, Kahua, (NICE TO HAVE) Viewpoint (ESSENTIAL)

Desirable Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of CAD for ‘as-built’ drawing production
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
