The Client

Harmonic is thrilled to partner with a dynamic, values-driven architecture firm in their search for a detail-oriented and outgoing Accounts Assistant to join their close-knit commercial team. This exciting role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to a company that values fun and inclusivity. With a team of 80 professionals, this firm specialises in residential architecture in London.

The company places a strong emphasis on community and culture, with various social activities such as netball, tag rugby, and cycling clubs. Their studio was designed by the team seven years ago, and it offers a modern and spacious environment complete with social amenities like a pool table and communal lunch spaces. The studio seeks someone who will actively engage with their community-focused ethos, participate in social events, and contribute to maintaining their vibrant office culture.

The Role

The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager and join a team of three. The firm is looking for someone preferably with a background in accounting or finance, with a positive attitude, a keen eye for detail, and a love for architecture.

Your day to day will involve preparing weekly financial reports for directors, liaising with clients and banks, credit card analysis, maintaining the marketing budget, and HR duties such as approving timesheets, processing staff expenses, and managing the staff training budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare weekly financial reports for director meetings
  • Communicate with clients about incoming fees and liaise with banks for company matters
  • Approve weekly staff timesheets and track extended leaveand calculate monthly overtime hours
  • Analyse monthly credit card statements for all companies and process monthly staff expense
  • Manage the marketing budget
  • Oversee petty cash and payroll deductions
  • Maintain RIBA/ARB records for staff
  • Provide figures for project completion reviews
  • Upload bank statements to the server
  • Conduct Accounts induction for new employees
  • Monitor GSB committee's budget and staff hour contributions
  • Track expenses for European trips and team dinners
  • Manage resources schedule
  • Oversee staff training budget and arrange necessary training
  • Ensure compliance with the Assael Quality Management System

What we need to see:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the architecture industry
  • Experience working in a creative SME
  • A keen eye for detail and positive attitude

What we'd like to see:

  • Experience in an architecture or interior design studio
  • Previous experience with Xero

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 + discretionary bonus

Start date: ASAP
