Global Forwarding Agent

  • Location: Derby
  • Salary: £28,000-£33,000 (DOE)
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Shift: 08:30-17:30 (Mon-Fri)

Reed is collaborating with one of the world's largest logistics platforms, who are looking for a Global Forwarding Agent and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role is perfect for someone who excels in problem-solving and enjoys working closely with customers throughout the shipment process. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Understand and manage the processes and documentation involved in international shipping from the issuance of the purchase order to the delivery of the cargo.
  • Apply industry knowledge and critical thinking to adapt processes and create solutions to challenges both internally and externally.
  • Coordinate tasks on shipments to meet all customer SOP requirements including booking approvals, processing pre-alerts, governmental filings, executing delivery, ensuring proper invoicing, etc.
  • Collaborate with international team members and third-party agents to ensure efficiency and excellent customer service.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups on issue resolution.
  • Provide reporting and documentation support to both internal and external customers.
  • Participate in customer business reviews and continuously seek ways to improve service and responsiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Global Forwarding experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a proven track record of interacting with customers and being client-focused.
  • Critical-thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to adapt to ever-changing tasks and customer needs.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
