You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

Reporting into the Global Mobility & Immigration Senior Manager you will be responsible for the management, coordination and compliance of Immigration and International secondments, international assignments and permanent hires in line with BDO policies. Just as importantly, you will also get the opportunity to develop your own skills and expertise.

You will also:

  • Ensure that all cases are complete, and files are compliant against immigration legislation
  • Conduct weekly reviews of Immigration Compliance reports generated from Workday and ensure any relevant changes are reported to the Home Office
  • Ensure adherence to immigration timelines and monitor process of all new and existing cases
  • Complete monthly and quarterly reports on immigration
  • Conduct secondment briefings with new secondees in person and over the phone providing a professional, informative point of contact throughout the secondment process taking a proactive approach to any challenges along the way
  • Advise business of new starters, on right to work check processes and manage any issues
  • Instruct tax, payroll, and benefit provider (if appropriate) on international secondments
  • Work with the GM Senior Manager to deliver end-to-end process for Inbound and Outbound International secondments
  • Be responsible for accurately executing compliance tasks pertaining to migrant workers immigration compliance and maintenance of BDO’s Sponsorship license
  • Request visa invoices and calculating the amount reclaimable from leavers and sharing the details within HR
  • Instruct and work with the relocation provider (to arrange temporary accommodation), monitor and manage any issues
  • Instruct Immigration supplier on new visa case initiations and approve DCoS applications; monitor application status
  • Liaise with Partners for appropriate activity sign-off; liaise with internal teams and business on confirming start dates
  • Escalate policy or process exceptions, compliance risks, vendor performance issues and assignee complaints to the Global Mobility Manager as appropriate and have a Problem-solving mind-set
  • Maintain and deliver right to work training to internal teams
  • Draft guides, communication around change in rules/regulations and business cases where applicable

You’ll be someone with:

  • Previous experience in a Global Mobility or Immigration role in a large, complex organisation
  • The ability to hit the ground running and use your solid previous experience to navigate the ever complex and changing world of global mobility
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to multi-task and able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization skills, resilience and a can-do attitude
