The APM will work with the Project Managers to run multiple projects with full autonomy over every aspect of the conference process from research through to production, marketing, sales and logistics.
The client is an independent provider of business intelligence for the offshore oil and gas industry. The business is centred on research and aims to promote innovation and the improvement of industry standards.

Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Project Manager
As an APM, you'll form a critical part of the management team's growth plan, taking on full responsibility for the end to end lifecycle of some key company projects. As such, your role will constantly evolve and develop as the business grows. You'll be expected to seek opportunities to add value, advise the management team on new project opportunities as well as take on other ad hoc responsibilities. The four main areas:
Research
• Identifying new business intelligence - assessing the disruptions, drivers, opportunities and threats impacting an industry and the associated commercial opportunities.
• Conducting primary and secondary research with senior industry figures.
• Identifying ways to grow, develop and improve existing projects and the ability to execute your ideas.
Project Management
• Planning your time to meet tight research, production and marketing deadlines.
• Writing focused, technical conference agendas.
• Managing suppliers to help you deliver your project to the deadlines and standards required.
• Negotiating and managing strategic commercial partnerships.
Conference Marketing
• Managing a content led marketing strategy and budget over an 18-week campaign.
• Negotiating and managing strategic marketing partnerships.
• Tracking, measuring and reporting on marketing performance.
Sales
• Create a sales strategy based on your technical agenda, market and primary research.
• Identify unique sponsorship opportunities within your given project and match these with potential clients.
• Managing the entire sales cycle from initial call to executing contracts, this will include writing detailed and bespoke sponsorship proposals, negotiating terms and remaining in control.

Key attributes of an Assistant Project Manager
• Educated to University Degree level.
• Experience working to multiple targets and deadlines across different projects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Sales/business development skills are desirable, but not a necessity.
• Willingness to travel

The ideal candidate is someone who is confident and possesses a positive nature with the desire to travel the world.
