Seeking a Group Financial Controller to Drive Financial Success in Southampton

A national leader in their field with a proven track record of growth, is seeking a talented Group Financial Controller to join the team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the company.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the production and reporting of monthly management accounts, ensuring all deadlines are consistently met.
  • Prepare statutory reports for the Group, adhering to all accounting standards and delivering them on time.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and liaise with tax advisors.
  • Oversee the Accounts, Credit Management, and Payroll teams, providing leadership and empowering them to achieve their goals.
  • Implement a robust financial control environment, ensuring accurate reconciliations and best practices.
  • Manage year-end payroll processes, IR35, and oversee VAT, PAYE and tax payments.
  • Manage the Balance Sheet, including identification and mitigation of key risk areas.
  • Champion change projects for the finance function
  • Manage accounting for acquisitions and ensuring accurate and compliant tax reporting.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

  • A recognized accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA preferred) with several years of post-qualification experience in a controlling / reporting role with a proven track record of success.
  • Good experience of Group consolidated reporting and statutory accounts preparation
  • Strong leadership and people management skills to include for financial operations teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for continuous learning and improvement.
