Role - IT Support Engineer
Location - Central London
Type - 6 Month temporary assignment with high potential to go permanent
Structure - Onsite 5 days a week. This can reduce after probation to either 3 or 4 days on site.
Salary - £40,000 - £50,000
About the IT Support Engineer role:
Fast growing and fast-paced financial services/ investment business is going through some new changes and require an experienced IT professional that has a sophisticated confidence in their work, can communicate at a high level and able to work across 1st and 2nd line support to join them for 6 months with the high probability of going permanent thereafter. They are incorporating new technologies across the business and anyone that is looking to get to grips with AI tools, investment security technology and similar, are encouraged to apply.
We are looking for an immediate starter. You will be required to be in office 5 days a week, should you perform well and can demonstrate autonomy and efficiency, there is ample room to work 1 or two days once settled in your role.
Responsibilities:
- 1st / 2nd line Desk side support of all hardware and software in use in all office locations
- Log all support requests, take ownership, track, prioritise, and progress support calls to a successful resolution
- Set up new users on Active Directory and provision hardware
- Support and maintain printers and print queues
- Ensure computers are updated and security patches applied
- Ensure Anti-Virus software is up to date and fully functional on all company PC’s and laptops
- Assist with updates to computer hardware, operating system and applications
- IT infrastructure moves, tidying of cabling in the server room and office floor
- Manage and configure smartphones and mobile devices
- Use remote support tools and visit other offices as and when required
Knowledge and experience of:
- Office 365 Exchange Online, Sharepoint, Onedrive, Azure Active Directory / Entra
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio)
- Active Directory
- Helpdesk ticketing e.g. Freshservice
- Email anti-spam/anti-malware technologies, e.g. Mimecast
- Remote support software, e.g. Team Viewer, Dameware
- Computer builds and application deployment e.g. Autopilot, Intune
There will be an initial interview for successful applicants followed by a 30 minute technical test and once that has been passed, a final in-person interview awaits you before an offer can be extended.
