Our client is a leading supplier of home textiles to the retail sector in the UK, who now have an excellent opportunity for a Merchandiser to join their growing Head Office team working on a major high street retailer account.

Purpose of role:

As Merchandiser you will manage the day to day merchandising of given categories within the Account, meeting agreed KPI’s to deliver exemplary service and meeting the clients Supplier expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, control and manage stock levels of designated categories to meet the stock requirements of the business, whilst maximising sales.
  • Build strong relationships with the customer and manage key stakeholders through regular meetings and effective communication.
  • Analyse sales performance against forecast and suggest corrective action where required.
  • Support the Design and Account Management teams by providing relevant data and analysis to drive sales and profit.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues, support Critical Path management and ensure intake is managed in line with stock targets and customer expectation.
  • Completing all customer related product documentation on time, in detail and to the requirements, gathering information from relevant stake holders where needed.
  • Working as part of the wider team across all areas of the business from Design, QC, Accounts and Warehousing, completing and updating all required documents accurately to ensure processes are followed and stakeholders are fully updated on the customer’s present requirements.

Key Competences and Experience:

  • Ideally at least 3 years’ experience of working within merchandising
  • Must have a solid understanding of and be able to drive a critical path.
  • A good communicator and a strong team player.
  • Motivated, proactive and confident at leading conversations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience within the home textile / ceramic product areas preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent skills in Excel, Word, Office and Powerpoint.
