Microsoft Azure Data Integration Specialist

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Microsoft Azure Data Integration Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This role is focused on connecting various pre-established data sources using Azure technologies to ensure seamless data integration, synchronisation, and accessibility.

Job Summary: The Microsoft Azure Data Integration Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data integration solutions on the Azure platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data integration, a deep understanding of Azure services, and the ability to work with a range of data sources to create a cohesive data environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Integration:
   • Connect and integrate various pre-existing data sources using Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, and other relevant Azure services.
   • Design and develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data across multiple systems.
2. Data Management:
   • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across integrated systems.
   • Monitor and troubleshoot data flows to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
3. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with the existing data team to ensure integration solutions meet business needs.
   • Provide expertise and guidance on best practices for data integration and management within the Azure ecosystem.
4. Documentation:
   • Create and maintain detailed documentation for data integration processes, workflows, and configurations.
   • Develop and update technical documentation, including data mappings, process flows, and integration specifications.
5. Optimisation:
   • Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimisations within the data integration framework.
   • Implement enhancements to improve the efficiency and scalability of data integration solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data integration, ETL processes, and data management.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure services, Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data modelling.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Experience with various data formats (e.g., JSON, XML, CSV) and data storage solutions.
• Certifications:
  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with additional Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Microsoft Power BI.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C#, or PowerShell for scripting and automation.
• Understanding of big data technologies and concepts.
