Motor Claims Manager

NJR Recruitment are pleased to be able to market this great new opportunity for a Motor Claims Manager working with one of our clients based in Manchester City Centre.

Our client primarily underwrites commercial vehicle policies, though also has some private motor as well as a taxi book, with claims being dealt with in-house by the team in Manchester. They have achieved good success and growth over the last few years and now need a new Claims Manager to join the business.

As Claims Manager you will be reporting directly into the Claims Director and board, with responsibility for overseeing 3 Deputy Managers and the team of Claims Handlers.

This role would suit an experienced Claims Manager with a strong knowledge of Motor, ideally coming from an insurer background. However, we will also consider somebody from a broking environment.

The position comes with a wide array of responsibilities, to include:

• Allocating work and managing workloads.
• Maintaining and complying with service level agreements for suppliers and backers.
• Setting reserves, preparing bordereaux and stats for the board.
• Handling larger litigated claims with solicitors.
• Attending client claims review meetings and attending claims meetings with backers.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Managerial experience within a Motor claims capacity, responsible for overseeing others and getting the best out of them.
• Ideally will come from an insurer background, though would consider those from a broking claims environment.
• Ability to deal with brokers and policyholders effectively.
• Familiarity with reporting to a board member.
• Experience in covering the listed responsibilities above.
• Strong soft skills such as communication, organisational and time management.
