Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer – 6 - month contract

My customer requires an experienced Platform Engineer to join the organisation for an initial 6-month engagement.

This Platform Engineer will be responsible for managing and leading the operation of Cloud Infrastructure (Azure) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). You are required to have strong understanding of Platform as a Service (PaaS) and IaaS and act as a SME for cloud infrastructure specifically in Azure.

The Platform Engineer also have a focus on Azure data platform services with skills in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Data Analytics, and Azure Databricks and DevOps practices. 

Primary requirements for the Platform Engineer will include:

• Experienced Platform Engineer - CAF (Cloud Adoption Framework)
• Strong experience and understanding of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
• Strong experience and understanding of Platform as a Service (PaaS)
• Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Analytics, Azure Data Factory
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience – Azure Landing Zones, Azure Cloud services, data platform services.
• Landing Zone Architecture
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Terraform, Cloud Formation
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
• Scripting capabilities: PowerShell, Python
• Any architecture experience would be beneficial.
• Cloud Security: IAM, NIST
• Any experience with Cloud Networking with be advantageous: Vnet, Subnets, VPNs
• DevOps capabilities: integrating operations and development workflows for more streamline deployments.

The Platform Engineer would work remotely with ad hoc visits to site.
