Our client, a well-established global logistics & freight forwarding specialist who pride themselves on innovation and ensuring customer care is met to the highest level within their growing digital world, are looking to recruit an Sea Import Coordinator, to based in offices in Basildon, Essex.

Our client is looking for a driven individual who is looking to progress their career and play an instrumental role in the growth of the sea freight forwarding department.

On Offer:

  • Salary negotiable, dependant on experience
  • Monday - Friday working pattern: 08.30 to 17.30 - 1 Hour for lunch
  • Working in a newly purchased and renovated office environment, with a break out area. This encompasses a modern kitchen, self-serve coffee machines, microwave, fridge/freezer. Use of TV, Pool table, ping pong table plus an arcade machine. Also, use of showers and soon to come a gym.
  • Position after 6 month’s probation will be invited into, a contributory pension, NHS Top up health scheme and after first full year of employment an extra day of annual leave per year capped at 25 days, excluding bank holidays.

Main Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Sea Freight Department Manager, the Sea Import Co-ordinator will handle FCL import operations from start to finish whilst offering high end customer service to the customer base.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Looking after company FCL containers ex China to the UK
  • Liaising with the companies China offices for local China arrangements
  • Liaising with all local UK suppliers:
  • Liaising with Customs Dept to arrange customs clearances
  • Liaising with our own and other 3rd party ERTS and general warehouses
  • Liaising with local transport companies to organise final end deliveries

To Be Considered for the Role:

  • Some experience with sea import operations
  • Experience with Bills of Lading is advantageous
  • Import customs entry experience ideal or some knowledge would be helpful.
  • Good telephone manner with excellent customer service skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft systems - Outlook, Word, Excel
