Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted rated "Outstanding" SEND school in Winsford that supports pupils from EYFS - KS4 as they are looking to recruit a number of motivated and reliable teaching assistants to support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis. This is a long-term role starting from September.

Your new role
In your new role as an SEN teaching assistant you will be supporting pupils with complex needs on a 1:1 and small group basis. The pupils you will be supporting have a variety of complex and profound needs including ASD, LD, delay disorders, non-verbal and behavioural needs. You will be required to take a pupil-centred approach to education, ensuring that the pupils' needs and EHCP's are met in a safe and stimulating environment. Within the school, you will be required to support across different year groups with general responsibilities including interventions and boosters, speech and language development, and behaviour management.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience supporting children and young people with SEN in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience with Makaton and/or PECs is advantageous but not essential
  • Have experience or willingness to work with complex medical needs
