SEND Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning are currently looking to recruit a number of experienced SEND Teaching Assistants for roles in schools based in Newham & Tower Hamlets. The positions will start in September on a long term basis.

Role requirements

  • Supporting students who have Special Educational Needs in a class-based setting.
  • Type of SEN includes Autism, Physical Difficulties and Mental Health (challenging behaviour)
  • The roles require candidates to be able to work independently and in a team.
  • In some instances, supporting children who need help with intimate care.
  • A passion to work with students who require support and help from an adult in school.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Must have

  • Previous experience working in a school
  • Previous experience in Special Educational Needs
  • Availability to work 5 days a week any time between 8am to 4pm.
  • Commitment to accept Long Term work.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply for one.

The Schools

  • The schools are based in Newham and Tower Hamlets only.
  • SEND Schools with Small class sizes.
  • Mainstream Secondary and Primary Schools with Additional Resource Base's.
  • CPD Training provided via Empowering Learning
  • Competitive daily rate
