Senior Finance Officer

Hays are currently recruiting for a prestigious higher education body based in Manchester City Centre, seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Finance Officer. This temporary role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive finance team.

Your new role

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

• Assist in the annual reporting cycle, ensuring timely and accurate preparation for financial statements.
• Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Create and post journal entries to the Oracle system.
• Close liaison with the Finance Officers within the team, including provision of advice and guidance as appropriate
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, forecast outturns, year-end accounts, annual budgets, five year plans.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have:

• Experience in a similar role
• Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to prioritise conflicting demands
• Knowledge of financial systems (preferably Oracle)
• A flexible team player with the ability to support colleagues.
