Our client is a non for profit public sector organisation who support the local community with a variety of services. As a growing workforce they require a CIPD level 5 to look after employee relations and work within the HR department to provide a HR service across all aspects of their generalist people agenda. This will include implementing human resources best practices across departments, support on existing HR Projects, gaining buy in with internal stakeholders to obtain a timely implementation, take responsibility to ensure that managers and employees comply with relevant HR legislation and manage training and development initiatives.

The role of HR Advisor is to lead across the departments with advice, support and guidance, to Directors and Managers, on how to effectively and correctly manage people and general HR issues and reach correct decisions which comply with legislation and company policy.

This role is working 2 days per week in the office and 3 days working from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Building effective employee relations across the company
  • Lead on and initiate driving cultural change
  • Maintain and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Management Team, representatives form Trade Unions, legal and occupational health
  • Support managers in conducting investigations which relate to incidents of misconduct
  • Implement effective performance management systems which provide continuous service improvement and development of their performance management culture
  • Support managers during sickness absence monitoring, guiding on absence levels being within target
  • Support managers with employee home visits, dismissals, liaising with Occupational Health professionals to obtain options for Ill Health Retirement and other long term illness cases.
  • Support and guide Directors and Managers to make the appropriate decisions in line with case law and legislation within grievance and disciplinary hearings
