Senior Sales Representative

Location: East Anglia (role covers Cambridge, Northampton, Peterborough, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Kent)
Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £45 - £47k + commission, hybrid company car, laptop, mobile phone 

Hours: 37.5 hours3 days on the road and 2 at home per week.  1 of those days is solely to allow proactive forward planning.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Sales Representative, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing direct sales activities within the healthcare sector, with a focus on the NHS. Your role will involve engaging with customers, identifying new business opportunities, and building strong relationships by educating customers about our clients brand, products, and services. You will manage revenue and capital pipelines using CRM tools, converting opportunities into orders in a professional, commercial, and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement & Account Management:

    • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through proactive, planned individual account support.

    • Ensure widespread networking with key stakeholders/decision-makers to promote our brand and products through proactive, planned sales visits/appointments.

  • Territory & Sales Management:

    • Work with the National Sales Manager to develop the regional territory plan and achieve the regional potential and sales targets.

    • Generate and develop new opportunities, follow up on quotations and samples, and close new business, ensuring the CRM accurately reflects status.

    • Be accountable for the region's revenue and capital pipelines, logging all information to ensure business support and deliver maximum potential from the opportunities in the region.

    • Support regional forecasting with proactive CRM use and ongoing professional engagement with key stakeholders and decision-makers.

  • Customer Service & Feedback:

    • Handle customer complaints efficiently and professionally, managing repair requests for minor faults.

    • Provide full and precise feedback from customers on all aspects of our business activities, including complaints, satisfaction, and product improvements.

  • Market & Competitor Analysis:

    • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and strategies, and report on them when identified.

  • Sales Data Management & Reporting:

    • Record all customer details and sales activities using company business systems (Excel, Outlook, CRM system) to align with the business's data extraction requirements.

  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Conduct product demonstrations, exhibitions, and sales presentations as needed.

    • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports, as requested by the National Sales Manager.

    • Attend trade shows and events as required to promote our products.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales within the healthcare sector, particularly with the NHS.

  • Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.

  • Ability to manage a territory and achieve sales targets.

Experience and Attributes:

Transactional Seller:

Characteristics: Efficient, quick, and volume-focused.

Approach: Transactional sellers focus on high-volume, quick-turnaround sales. They are highly efficient and often work best in environments where the sales cycle is short, and the product is straightforward.

Strengths: Excellent at managing a large number of transactions and hitting volume-based targets.

Hunter:

Characteristics: Aggressive, driven, and highly focused on acquiring new business.

Approach: Hunters are proactive and constantly seek out new opportunities. They are not afraid to cold-call, network, and engage with prospects who have never interacted with their company before.

Strengths: Excellent at finding and closing new business. They thrive in competitive environments and are often the top performers in terms of new client acquisition.
