Dassian are business transformation experts who help you replace your aging legacy systems and old operational methods with fully integrated, end-to-end business processes supported by a single digital thread. 

As an apprentice software developer, you will be joining our international development team, reporting to the development team lead. You will be working in a team of full stack developers, taking a forward role in creating new features and maintaining our new Contract Management system.

You'll be expected to work with a range of technologies including .NET Core, ASP.NET, React, JavaScript, Azure (amongst many others) and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and teach your knowledge to others as you progress.

Your responsibilities:

  • Build new and maintain existing features for our diverse client base
  • Identify and suggest upon key areas of improvement throughout the systems
  • Manage your apprenticeship learning and work time

Requirements:

  • Awareness or experience of development within Microsoft technologies including but not limited to .NET Core, ASP.NET (Core) MVC, LINQ, Entity Framework, Windows Console/Service Applications
  • Awareness of SQL and Database Design
  • Awareness or knowledge and experience of other web languages and technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, React.js/Next.js
  • Awareness of Web APIs
  • Ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines, adapting to a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to solve complex tasks under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A keen eye for attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Awareness of front-end CSS frameworks such as Tailwind
  • Evidence of personal learning and development (Github / Gitlab, code samples, StackOverflow / community contributions etc) would be a bonus

Entry requirements:

  • The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider
  • OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Location:

  • Penistone Road, Sheffield plus remote working flexibility

Working hours:

  • 40 hours per week, Mon - Fri though you may on occasion have to work longer to meet a project deadline or during release cycles. We are flexible on times outside of core hours 10am to 3pm.
