Job Advert: Speech and Language Group ManagerLocation: Hackney
Salary: £59,233 per annum
Purpose of the Job:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Speech and Language Group Manager to lead our team in Hackney. The successful candidate will oversee the assessment, diagnosis, and support plans for students, ensuring the provision of high-quality intervention programmes and effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Speech and Language Therapists, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Oversee the assessment and diagnosis process for a diverse caseload of students, ensuring accurate and timely evaluations.
  • Intervention Programmes: Develop and implement evidence-based intervention programmes for individuals and groups of students with speech, language, and communication needs, as well as Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teaching staff, other professionals, and parents to provide comprehensive assessment, training, and therapy programmes.
  • Service Development: Contribute to the strategic development and enhancement of Speech and Language Therapy services at the college.
  • Outcome Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven adjustments to improve student outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Professional Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in assessing and supporting students with speech, language, and communication needs and SEMH, including leadership experience.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, providing support and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute to the development and enhancement of services, with a focus on continuous improvement.
