Job Advert: Part-Time Student Learning Support Assistant (Challenging Behaviour)
Location: Isleworth
Hours: 17 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday)
Start - 2nd September until 26th June 2025

Purpose of Job:
  • To support students with challenging behaviours and facilitate a positive learning environment.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Student Support:
    • Provide direct support to students, particularly those aged 14-16, who exhibit challenging behaviours.
    • Implement and use effective behaviour management techniques to support student engagement and learning.
  2. Behaviour Management:
    • Develop and apply strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours.
    • Work closely with teaching staff to create individual support plans tailored to student needs.
  3. Collaboration:
    • Liaise with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of behaviour management strategies.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Keep accurate records of student behaviour and progress.
    • Report on the effectiveness of interventions and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
Person Specification:
  1. Qualifications:
    • Relevant qualifications in education, special educational needs, or a related field are preferred.
  2. Experience:
    • Proven experience in supporting learners, particularly those aged 14-16, with challenging behaviours.
    • Familiarity with behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  3. Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
    • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  4. Personal Attributes:
    • Empathetic and supportive approach to working with students.
    • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to student needs.

Contract Positions
