Our client is a leading supplier of home textiles to the retail sector in the UK, who now have an excellent opportunity a Sustainability & Compliance Coordinator to join their team based in Little Hulton.

Work closely with the Sustainability and Compliance Manager to help establish, develop and implement a sustainability and supplier compliance strategy and process from inception to delivery to meet and exceed set targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Sustainability and Compliance Manager to help establish, develop and implement a sustainability and supplier compliance strategy and process from inception to delivery to meet and exceed set targets.
  • Help to gather data and evaluate the product ranges for sustainability credentials and ensure marketing claims on products are appropriate and can be fully substantiated at all times.
  • Maintain and publish internal trackers for each key sustainability and compliance area
  • Support stakeholder and customer requirements for seasonal and annual reporting to ensure the business hits and maintains sustainability targets and commitments.
  • Collate and manage certification, accreditation and verification processes by gathering, reviewing and approving supplier documents related to traceability of recycled product content.
  • Collect, check and track shipped goods documents to ensure import volumes match the associated transaction certification (e.g. BCI cotton and GRS recycled content).
  • Manage sustainable and compliance data platforms to ensure effective data collection and recording of transaction certification, credit transfer and key document content.
  • Assess and monitor ethical and responsible business practices in the global supply chains via regular reviews of factory ethical audits and work closely with our suppliers to ensure non-compliances are corrected to required deadlines and root cause initiatives documented and followed up.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Enthusiastic team player, with a proactive approach, good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
  • Organised, and capable of prioritising multiple tasks.
  • A relevant sustainability qualification or work experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • A graduate seeking their first employment opportunity would be welcomed.
