An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic team at an owner-managed professional services firm based in Atherton, North Manchester. The role has come about due to business growth, as the company are set to double in size over the next 5. The Head of Accounts will also be retiring in the near future and therefore the role is with one eye upon succession planning. As such this role is perfect for someone looking to advance their accounting career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be reporting directly to the Company Accountant and will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the finance department. Your key duties will include:

  • Supporting Month-End Accounts Production: Assist the Company Accountant with the preparation and production of month-end accounts.
  • Book Keeping - including Sales and Purchase Ledger.
  • Client Invoicing: Manage the invoicing process for our clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Invoice Premium Finance Loans: Set up and manage invoice premium finance loans with clients and finance providers.
  • Client and Supplier Communication: Regularly interact with clients and suppliers to resolve finance and accounts-related queries.
  • Utilising Acturis IT System: Use the Acturis IT system to manage financial information (full training will be provided).
  • Excel Utilisation: Employ Excel for various accounting tasks and data analysis.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in an accounting role or relevant field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
